C-melody saxophone

Sound Sample
Mulo Francel bought this instrument from a New York flea market in the early 1990s for 125 dollars. The seller had no idea just what a special instrument this is.

It is a Conn brand C-melody saxophone from 1916. A type of saxophone that was only built into the 1920s and was played a lot in military and circus bands.
You can hear that somehow. It has a sweet tone and cantillates poorly, which perhaps was not so important in these bands.

Mouthpiece used: Otto Link rubber for tenor saxophone with narrow channel, reeds: Vandoren Java 3.5 for tenor saxophone
